Today I would like to share with you about how Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door helped to quell my 3, 6, 9 karmic passes successfully.
I started cultivating under Master Jun Hong Lu since 2015. To-date, it has been 3 years. The path of my cultivation has been smooth sailing and the responsive Guan Yin Bodhisattva has been blessing me in everything I do. However, towards the end of 2017 when I was nearing the 3, 6, 9 karmic passes, I met with a series of accidents due to fruition of my karmic obstacles.
On 5th December 2017, I ram into a car from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs while driving. The collision caused damages to the front of my car without any casualty. I knew then that it was due to the blessings from Guan Yin Bodhisattva. Deepest gratitude to Guan Yin Bodhisattva! But that was not the end of my catastrophe.
In less than two weeks after the car accident, on 17th December, two days after I collected my car from the workshop, I heard a loud scream when I was about to make a turn at a cross junction. Thereafter, my body was covered with glasses from my shattered windscreen, and a motorcycle ramped right into the side of my door; at that instance, I saw a lady being flung from the left to the right side of my car. I was in deep shock by what I saw.
I was praying to Guan Yin Bodhisattva, while getting out to check my car. I saw a man whose face was covered with blood and his eyes were protruding. He was laying motionless on the ground. The wounded lady was crawling over to check on the condition of the man. I was in such a state of fright that my limbs weakened and I could not even turn on my mobile phone.
After the police and medics arrived, still in the state of shock, I recorded my statement and went home to wait for further news. I did not know how the police would judge the accident, but according to the Road Traffic Rules of Singapore, pedestrians have priority over vehicle traffic. If found guilty, I would be faced with a huge amount of indemnity and potentially criminal liabilities.
When I reached home, I knelt before Guan Yin Bodhisattva and cried. I sought Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s forgiveness and vowed to recite Little Houses, perform recitations to quell the karmic knots, perform life liberation and to utilise the merits amassed from one of the public talks to help me overcome the situation. I hoped Guan Yin Bodhisattva would forgive me.
Ever since the accident, I was unable to sleep well. The minute I closed my eyes, images of the casualty would appear. I was unable to sleep and eat and was living in fear every single day. Whenever the phone rang, I would be afraid that there would be bad news from the police or hospital. Eventually, I sank into a state of depression. During those days, the mental stress that I underwent was indescribable. I did not want to disclose the incident to people around me.
Every day, I would listen to Master Lu’s Buddhism in Plain Terms. I guess I would have given up hopes if not for the blessings and energy I received from the Buddhism in Plain Terms. One day, I saw a phrase in the Buddhism in Plain Terms stating that the Buddha would be able to sense those with sincerity. As long as a person sincerely repents his wrongdoings, the Buddha will definitely be able to sense it.
When the phrase caught my eyes, Master Lu’s dharma body appeared in my mind instantaneously and he was reprimanding me sternly, “The fruition of such retribution is the result of the seed you sowed from past or present life. Why didn’t you repent to Guan Yin Bodhisattva sincerely?”
I burst into tears at that instance and quickly knelt before Guan Yin Bodhisattva to make a vow to recite the Eighty-Eight Buddha Great Repentance, to repent my wrongdoings from previous life which caused the present retribution.
It was only then that I realised why I was still feeling uneasy despite having recited so many scriptures and offered so many Little Houses; it was because I was only concerned about making vows, performing recitation and life liberation all this while and failed to acknowledge and repent my wrongdoings to Guan Yin Bodhisattva. Deepest gratitude to Master Lu for coming to my rescue once again.
In January, 2018, I received a reply from the police and was told that due to the absence of a monitoring camera at the scene and lack of concrete evidence from witnesses, they were unable to determine who was at fault. As such, they would not be filing any lawsuit against me, but would refer the case to court for further investigation.
They told me to prepare for the worst because judges in Singapore tend to incline towards the motorcyclist, especially in cases involving such serious injury. Chances of me winning the court case only stood at around 20 – 30%. Upon hearing this, I was devastated and cried over the seed of negative karma planted in my previous life.
In February, I participated in the public talk held in Sydney. Master Lu seemed to know the pain I was suffering from within and personally gave me his blessings. The compassion that Master Lu had shown me made me feel extremely regretful. I vowed to cultivate diligently and not let Master Lu down. I repented earnestly.
Finally, in April, I received a letter from the police stating that they were unable to indict me for the accident. Therefore, both the police and court would not be filing any lawsuit against me. The final verdict was for both parties to bear their own insurance and maintenance fees.
Deepest gratitude for the compassion that Guan Yin Bodhisattva had bestowed me. Deepest gratitude to Master Lu for not giving up on me and helping me to overcome the situation.
While waiting for the verdict over the 6-month period, I decided to apply for a taxi license in order to generate some income to support my family. However, applicants for taxi license in Singapore are subjected to screening of historical driving records by the Land Transport Authority of Singapore.
Serious traffic offence, could be a ground for one’s application to be rejected. I was very worried that the accident would leave criminal record in my name and would affect my application. Getting the license meant a lot to me as I had to provide for my young children. At that moment, I thought of Guan Yin Bodhisattva. I made a vow to release 500 fishes, which were targeted at helping me to obtain the taxi license.
I would drive to a market in Malaysia to purchase live fishes due to be slaughtered and released them into a nearby river. I also vowed to offer a few batches of 21 Little Houses. Every day, I would recite 108 times of the Cundi Dharani and prayed to Guan Yin Bodhisattva for blessings.
It is not an easy task to obtain taxi license in Singapore, but I managed to obtain both the taxi and the shared rental car licenses. This would not have been possible had it not been the blessings of Bodhisattva and persistent application of the Three Golden Buddhist Practices.
After the car accident, I was anxious to sell the car. Through performing recitation, making vows and performing life liberation, I found a buyer soon after. The buyer offered a price which was $1,000 above my base price. The additional sum of money was just enough to pay for the excess insurance premium that I was liable to pay. Deepest gratitude to Guan Yin Bodhisattva.
The accident taught me about the importance of reading the Buddhism in Plain Terms and merits accumulated from the public talks could help us ward off our misfortunes and even calamities. The fact that I am here is becauseof the opportunity that Guan Yin Bodhisattva has given me.
