(Master Jun Hong Lu’s call-in radio program)

How to address Little Houses when your child has both English and Chinese names?

Caller: Hi Master, I would like to ask you two questions.  When I recite Little Houses for my child who has both English and Chinese names, which name should I write down on the Little Houses?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  Write both the English and Chinese name on the Little Houses. (He rarely uses his Chinese name.  In the past, I just used his English name. Can his karmic creditors receive the Little Houses?)

Use both the English and Chinese names on the Little House, then his karmic creditor should be able to receive it.   Using the English name alone is not as good. (Should we write his English name followed by his Chinese name?) Yes, because he is Chinese after all.  (He was born here so we gave him an English name.) It doesn’t matter.  His English name consists of a surname, doesn’t it? (Yes, so we should write both the Chinese and English names?)  Yes.  It is safer this way.  We’ve had the same situation before. For example, for someone named Mike Li, you can call him Li XX.
