CONSTANT PERFORMANCE OF GOOD DEEDS AND THE RECITATION OF THE EIGHTY-EIGHT BUDDHAS GREAT REPENTANCE (LIFO) WILL EXTEND THE TIME IT TAKES FOR NEGATIVE KARMA TO COME TO FRUITION

Caller: We often hear Master narrate stories of the Lord Buddha about the law of causation, featuring this phrase, ‘May all my evil deeds not come to fruition’. However, the law of causation is an undeniable truth, and evil deeds will ultimately come to fruition. Master, could you please tell me if we can mention this phrase to Bodhisattva prior to our recitation of LIFO? Will it extend the time it takes for negative karma to come to fruition?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, it will. By extending the time it takes for negative karma to crystallise, it will gradually eliminate a substantial amount of negative karma, due to the fact you are constantly performing good deeds.

Caller: How should we add it into our prayer prior to reciting LIFO?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Conceptually, when you mention, ‘Please help eliminate my karmic obstacles’, or ‘May my karmic obstacles not erupt’, both carry the same meaning, don’t you think?

Caller: I understand now.
