NATURAL DISASTERS ARE THE RESULTS OF HUMAN DEEDS

Master Jun Hong Lu: We all know that natural disasters and man-made disasters are constant. Everyone suffers three faults: greed, hatred and ignorance. Many have practised Buddhism and know the Three Poisons. But do we know the impact these Three Poisons have on our career, country and the world? We might not.

A country with a lot of greed, so much so that they invade other countries, will often be hit by floods. As for a country with people full of hatred in them, they will suffer fire disasters. Last but not least, a country whose people are ignorant, desiring anything and everything and wanting to be king of the world, such a country will suffer from wind disasters.

Some people ask: Is it possible for one’s negative energy to affect Mother Nature? Yes it is possible. Natural disasters are the result of human actions.

Like the idiom, ‘when the time is right, couple with favourable geographical and social conditions’, ‘nature and humanity are united’.

As such, humans could influence the weather and nature, and vice versa. When the evil deeds of humanity are too great, natural disasters may follow. Thus, we should always stay away from deeds stemming from greed, hatred and ignorance.
