DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SEVENTH AND THE EIGHTH CONSCIOUSNESS
Caller: How do we tell if karmic obstacles have entered our seventh or eighth consciousness?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Take for instance the hatred you held against a person has now entered into our eighth consciousness. As hatred is not an easy trait to eliminate, once it is given rise to, it will enter into one’s eighth consciousness.
Caller: Yes, Master Lu. Once karmic obstacles entered our eighth consciousness, it is understood that one needs meritorious blessings to eliminate them but what about karmic obstacles that have entered our seventh consciousness, how do we go about its elimination?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Karmic obstacles at this level does not pose a threat as it is akin to being in a prosecutor’s office where it is possible for the charges to be overthrown or get resolved. However, once it entered the eighth consciousness, it is as though the sentence has been passed. Should one wish to make any changes to the outcome, a re-trial would need to be arranged to determine the new charges. Do you understand?
