WORDS OF ADVICE FOR BUDDHIST PRACTITIONERS IN THE UPCOMING MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL

Caller: Hi Master, how time flies and in the blink of an eye, the Mid-Autumn Festival is around the corner. What advice do you have for Buddhist practitioners across the world?

Master Jun Hong Lu: I urge everyone to persevere in their Buddhist practice, especially in this Evil World of the Five Turbidities (the world of suffering) – an era that the Shakyamuni Buddha once painted in reference to the Age of Dharma Decline. I hope everyone can conduct themselves properly and focus on cultivating their mind.

In essence, it is about being devoted to one Buddhist practice and putting in the effort instead of getting caught up in those endless streams of worldly troubles. Once entangled in those distressing affairs of everyday life, there is no way that you are able to wiggle your way out. Sentient beings are so pitiful. In their relentless pursuit of fame and fortune and in a fit of pique, out of greed, hatred or ignorance they wrestle with others. What a pity!

Caller: Yes. I agree.
