PRACTISING VEGETARIANISM IS A PREREQUISITE FOR TESTIMONY SHARING

Caller: Hi Master Lu, you once mentioned in your radio program that one must be a vegetarian before sharing their testimony. May I ask whether there is a need for Buddhist practitioners, who have shared their testimony prior to becoming a vegetarian, to recite the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance (LIFO)?

Master Jun Hong Lu: That’s for sure. If you are not a vegetarian, it means your compassion remains lacking. You are still inflicting harm on others. Every dish of meat involves the killing of livestock. To satisfy your craving for fish will result in more fishes being caught. It is as simple as that.

Caller: Yes. Do they need to recite LIFO until such time when their guilt is completely eliminated?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes.
