WHEN NEW PRACTITIONERS FEEL THAT THINGS ARE NOT GOING SMOOTHLY, THEY MAY RECITE THE AMITABHA PURE LAND REBIRTH MANTRA

Caller: How are you, Master? May I know, other than the three major Buddhist scriptures – the Great Compassion Mantra, the Heart Sutra and the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance – what are the other must-recite sutras that Master would recommend to beginners?

Master Jun Hong Lu: It’s best for people with karmic obstacles or who have committed the act of killing in the past to recite the Amitabha Pure Land Rebirth Mantra.

Caller: How do we ascertain whether one has committed the act of killing?

Master Jun Hong Lu: They will feel that things are not going smoothly for them.

Caller: I see. Other than the Amitabha Pure Land Rebirth Mantra, is it necessary to recite other sutras such as Xiao Zai Ji Xiang Shen Zhou or the Cundi Dharani?

Master Jun Hong Lu: The Cundi Dharani is to pray for things to go smoothly, while Xiao Zai Ji Xiang Shen Zhou is meant to ward off potential calamities. In reality, it’s important to recite the Amitabha Pure Land Rebirth Mantra regardless of whether one faces any life obstacles currently. This is because a lot of life impediments are the consequences of past acts of killing.

Caller: Thank you, Master.
