TALK LESS. PERFORM MORE RECITATIONS OF SCRIPTURES
Caller: I always feel I am not spending enough time on performing recitations of scriptures.
Master Jun Hong Lu: Ask yourself how to squeeze more time for recitations. Time is like water in a sponge, you can always find more if you squeeze it. Talk less! There was a couple who used to quarrel day in day out in the past. Now, both husband and wife are diligent in performing recitations. They now hardly talk or argue as both of them are busy reciting scriptures.
Caller: This is exactly how I feel. When I get home, I could hardly find time to talk.
Master Jun Hong Lu: That is right. That is what Bodhisattva wishes us to do – perform recitations of scriptures, cultivate ourselves, accumulate virtues and build our capabilities. Think about it – talking is the very act that leads to quarrel, isn’t it?
