Caller: Master Lu, can we perform recitation in the hospital during the daytime?
Master Jun Hong Lu: You may do so during the daytime. You can recite the Great Compassion Mantra (Da Bei Zhou) and Heart Sutra (Xin Jing).
Caller: Master Lu, may I ask if we would attract foreign spirits in our surroundings to go after us if we perform recitations silently in hospital during the day?
Master Jun Hong Lu: No, it won’t. It doesn’t matter in daytime as foreign spirits generally come out at night. However, foreign spirits tend to come out earlier in hospitals, normally at around 12 midnight. In the hospitals, doctors are usually quiet, forbid people to talk and urge all patients to sleep after 10pm. This
