ADDING OIL TO OIL LAMP
Caller: Master Lu, you mentioned before that we may add oil to an oil lamp when it is lighted. Do you mean that we may add the oil before the oil lamp is lighted or after it is lighted?
Master Jun Hong Lu: You may add the oil after it is lighted. This is to allow Bodhisattvas to see this action of yours. However, the oil lamp wick should not be adjusted while the oil lamp is being lighted. You can pull up the wick before lighting the oil lamp, and you can add oil while the oil lamp is burning. Bodhisattvas will know your action, and your eyes will be brighter as a result.
Caller: Yes, that’s true. I think my eyesight has indeed improved.
