GREAT COMPASSION MANTRA ON AMULET KEPT IN WALLET SHOULD BE FACING OUTWARDS
Caller: Master, next question, the amulet can be kept in a wallet. When one opens the wallet, the Great Compassion Mantra should face outwards, not the Bodhisattva image. Master, is that what you said during one of your discourses?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, indeed. It is much better to see the Great Compassion Mantra instead of Bodhisattva’s image when you open the wallet. Monies in the wallet carry negative energy. The way the amulet works is that Guan Yin Bodhisattva would give you special blessings through the amulet when you are in need of help and recite Buddhist scriptures. However, in other times when you were not reciting sutras and the amulet is visible, it is disrespectful to look at the image of Guan Yin Bodhisattva each time you take money from the wallet.
