On 3 December 2018, I received an order from Guan Ping Bodhisattva to make myself available at the Hall of the King of Hell. When I arrived, the three Kings of Hell were already there waiting for me. Having paid respect to each of them, I stood to the side as usual. Kneeling before them were two offenders whose bodies were badly charred, they had been transferred from the Hell of Copper Bed.
The King of Hell A (responsible for the Underworld of Country A) pointed at the quivering offender at the back and said, “When you were alive, you were a son of a high-ranking government official. You were guilty of sexual promiscuity, having casual intimate relations with TV celebrities and women working at entertainment outlets. You were addicted to drinking, smoking and drugs. You also frequented brothels, and never behaved like an upright government official.
Even after you died, you acted as if you were still in the Human Realm, being provocative in front of me, going wild with your rage. All beings, whether they are famous or unknown, rich or poor, powerful or powerless, are not above the law. All are subject to the same punishments in accordance with the laws of Heaven and Earth. Now you can give an account of your punishment in the Hell of Copper Bed, so that our the Heavenly Child here can write it out to serve as a warning and deterrent to the future generations in the Human Realm.
“People who hold high government positions are endowed with great blessings. As such, they should serve the people well. If they do evil and commit crimes, they will receive the same punishments in hell like any others. If anybody in the Human Realm commits harsh speech, makes up stories or defame virtuous government officials, bear in mind that it’s considered a severe deed of verbal misconduct. The Underworld will keep track of it all, and mete out punishments according to the severity of the deeds of verbal misconduct.”
Offender A said, “After I died, I was dragged away by the Underworld’s enforcement officers who were strong and powerful. When I was alive, even though I used to be a man of strong build, I was unable to resist them. I went along a dark narrow path, and the surroundings were eerily quiet. Not long after, I heard many woeful cries coming from the distance. I bewilderingly followed them until we reached a tall ancient city gate. The guards who was waiting at the front of the gate opened it and dragged me through. When I entered, I realised that it was the Hell of Copper Bed, serving the purpose of punishing offenders indulged in sexual promiscuity.
“I was taken to an iron bed. Actually it shouldn’t be considered a bed since there was no mattress on it. It was a solid iron bed with many large and sharp spikes protruding out of the surface. In front of the bed was a label with my name, name of the country and place written on it. I struggled with all my might as I was unwilling to lie on the iron bed. A hot-tempered enforcement officer forcefully pressed me down on the iron bed, I yelled out loud as the excruciating pain was unbearable.
In an instant, hundreds of iron spikes were thrusted straight into my back. I was pampered when I was alive; how could I endure such hardship? I wailed and cried out in pain. Thinking that it was all the punishment I had to bear, I had no idea how long l had been lying on the bed. All of a sudden, many lustful thoughts appeared in my mind, and I saw the scenes of my promiscuous acts.
Suddenly raging flames shot up from under the bed, and the spikes that were thrusted into my back became red hot. I howled in terror. How I wished I would lose my consciousness so that I wouldn’t have to suffer this kind of torture. There was no way I could break myself free from the iron bed, as the spikes were thrusted inches deep into my flesh. On top of that, I had to endure the torment of being burnt. How remorseful I was! If I had known that hell really existed, I would not have committed sexual promiscuity with women. Hell is indeed a place of extreme torture!” The offender cried continuously.
The King of Hell B (who is responsible for the Underworld of Country B) pointed at the offender standing at the front and said, “Why did you take drugs? You’re a man, so why did you have homosexual relationships with so many men? What you did was absolutely revolting. Do you know that homosexual acts, like men with men and women with women, are a grave violation of the law of nature? The Underworld record it as perverted sexual misconduct and are incredibly strict about these kinds of misdeeds.
From the ancient past, males are considered ‘yang’ while females are considered ‘yin’. Nowadays, you people in the Human Realm are so depraved. Even sexual misconduct between man and woman carries with it a severe punishment, not to mention this kind of obscenity! The Underworld has no tolerance towards such debauchery. Hence, the term of punishment for this kind of misdeed usually doubles the sentences for sexual misconduct. We’ve transferred you here so that our Heavenly Child here can warn people in the Human Realm that Heaven and the Underworld have no tolerance towards homosexual acts.”
