Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva: “Where there is a cause, there is an effect. The fruits of your karma are the results of your own action. There is absolutely no escape from it. Benevolence is repaid with benevolence. Malice is repaid with malice. Out of ignorance, sentient beings only cry for mercy in the face of retribution, without knowing the fact that the law of cause and effect cannot be interfered, even with the boundless power of Buddha Dharma. They thus fall into reincarnation, a cycle of death and rebirth that is never-ending. Only through understanding the law of cause and effect, abiding by the Buddha’s teaching, observing the precepts, and performing good deeds, will one be able to be liberated from the suffering in the illusion of reincarnation.
Thus, all sentient beings should awaken to this immediately, stop engaging in any debauched and promiscuous acts, neither should they harbour greed for fame and fortune. Do not commit slander or harsh speech, do not participate in taking animal life for the sake of appetite, do not do anything that is forbidden by the Buddha, practise the Ten Good Deeds, refrain from committing the Ten Evil Deeds, and promote Buddhism far and wide. By doing so, you will certainly be rewarded with blessings in abundance.”
