WHY ARE WE ALLOWED TO RECITE 63 TIMES OF THE EIGHTY-EIGHT BUDDHAS GREAT REPENTANCE ON CHONG YANG FESTIVAL?
Caller: On the eve and the first day of Chinese New Year, we are allowed to recite a total of 87 times of the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance (LIFO). Why is it that we are allowed to recite 63 times of this sutra solely during the Chong Yang Festival? Is there any significance to this?
Master Jun Hong Lu: I am not too certain about this. I was simply relaying the messages conveyed to me by Bodhisattvas. Clearly, there must be a reason for it, which is meant to help speed up the elimination of your karmic obstacles on this day. Surely, the Bodhisattvas tasked with the elimination of karmic obstacles will be descending to the human realm on this day. I believe They are the Seven Buddhas.

Master Jun Hong Lu: When the Seven Buddhas arrive, and see you reciting so many times of the LIFO, They will help you eliminate your karmic obstacles.
