Master Jun Hong Lu’s
Buddhism In Plain Terms
Volume 9 Chapter 20
(An excerpt)
OUR MIND SHOULD BE KEPT PURE
Master Jun Hong Lu: The cultivation of mind and moral conduct is the only path to Buddhahood. But, how do you get down to doing it? You must elevate your state-of-mind.
This is because you are not able to take along your physical body when passing on, neither your body nor your words can demonstrate that you are a Bodhisattva. What you could take with you is your consciousness, philosophy and your state-of-mind. These are the things that warrant your entry to Heaven and to Bodhisattvahood.
Therefore, your mind should always be kept pure. Over time, your spiritual cultivation will ennoble you, your state-of-mind will be elevated, and without you knowing it, you will become more and more pure.
Each time you come across someone with impure thoughts in their mind, you will immediately sense it. Do you understand? My aim is to cultivate all of you to be future Bodhisattvas in Heaven!
