DIRE CONSEQUENCES AWAIT THOSE WHO SLANDER A DHARMA DOOR THAT IS CAPABLE OF ENLIGHTENING SENTIENT BEINGS
Those who have yet to realise the path of the Bodhisattva or have yet to be enlightened, if they were to slander any dharma doors that have helped enlighten others, innumerable karmic calamities will befall them, besides having to go through 1,000 rounds of cycle of rebirth, and not being able to uncover their Buddha nature for hundreds of lifetimes.
The term “dharma door that helps enlighten sentient beings” is a general term and does not refer to any method of cultivation. When a person fails to be enlightened it is because he has yet to grasp a particular dharma door.
On the flip side, once he is enlightened, he is said to have mastered the dharma door. This explains why when someone slanders a dharma door, he would suffer hundreds of catastrophes, one thousand cycles of rebirth, and for hundreds of lifetimes he would fail to uncover his Buddha nature, just like those who reincarnate as animals.
