Good afternoon everyone, today, I would like to share a bit about my path in practising Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door.
I was not diligent at the initial stages of my spiritual cultivation. I gave myself excuses and felt daily recitations should suffice, after all I was too busy at work.
It was only through numerous interactions with dharma friends at the Practice Centre that I started to fully appreciate how critical it is to be diligent in our Buddhism practice. Making numerous trips to the Practice Centre and seeing others’ dedication in their Buddhism cultivation have spurred me on. The positive atmosphere, where like-minded dharma friends congregate, has certainly rubbed off on me.
One of the phrases (verse 76) in volume 1 of words of wisdom has been effective on me and I would like to share it here, “Enduring hardship is a process of eliminating karmic obstacles. Those who can accept reality understand how to change reality. For a Buddhist practitioner, suffering is temporary. For non-practitioner, suffering will be long lasting“. This verse has served me well especially on days when I feel like letting my guards down.
I can also relate to one of discourses covered by the facilitator today, in which Master Lu says we should “connect our daily tasks with Bodhisattva”. I personally think it is a very powerful phrase that we should let it dwell within us. I adopted this and find it a huge motivation to ensure that I remain diligent and steadfast in my Buddhism cultivation.
I constantly remind myself that there are others, whose paths I shall cross at certain points of my life, that may need my help and I will live for them as much as I would live for myself. I would love to touch their lives as much as how Bodhisattva has touched mine. This is in contrast to the initial stage of my spiritual cultivation when I was the centerpiece of my daily prayer to Bodhisattva.
Last but not least, allow me to share this sentence that I repeat to Bodhisattva during my daily quiet time, “Dear Guan Yin Bodhisattva, I hope my transient presence would benefit as many sentient beings as possible, and the benefits will flow from one generation to the other”.
Life is so precious and yet many squander it. We can see this all around us. Like dharma friends, we have chosen a different path and there are many that we need to bring on.
That is the end of my sharing.
Deepest gratitude to the greatly merciful and greatly compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva.
Deepest gratitude to all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Dharma Protectors.
Deepest gratitude to Master Jun Hong Lu.
If my sharing today was improper in anyway, I seek the forgiveness from Guan Yin Bodhisattva and Dharma Protectors.
Thank you everyone!
