Caller: Master Lu, could you give us a discourse on the Mid-Autumn Festival from a metaphysical point of view?
Master Jun Hong Lu: The 15th day of the 8th lunar month is also a festive day in the celestial realm. It’s a day of joyful reunion with the hope of bringing happiness to everyone, even if full attendance is not feasible. As a matter of fact, on this day, we should stay at home to perform recitation, and pray for peace and reunification of the family. In fact, it is more efficacious to pray for reunification during the Mid-Autumn Festival than the 1st and 15th of other lunar months. Yet, there are still many people who throw a lavish feast of meat-based food. Not surprisingly, they will experience a loss of their loved ones shortly after the festival. Therefore, you must insist on not consuming live seafood.
