PERFORMING RECITATION AND OFFERING INCENSE ON THE EVE OF SEPTEMBER 19th ON LUNAR CALENDAR (THE RENUNCIATION DAY OF GUAN YIN BODHISATTVA)
Caller: Master Lu, the 19th day of the 9th Lunar Month is approaching. All of us will be offering the First Incense on that day, and staying up all night on its eve. Can we recite the Heart Sutra (Xin Jing) and the Amitabha Pure Land Rebirth Mantra (Wang Sheng Zhou) between 10pm and 12am on the 18th day of the 9th Lunar Month?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, you can. Remember, there will be a lot of Dharma Protectors during important Buddhist festivals, such as those days to commemorate Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. You are allowed to do a lot of things during those days.
Caller: So that is alright. Ok, then can we also make incense offerings during this period of time?
