OFFERING OF THE FIRST AND SUBSEQUENT INCENSE ON A MINI BUDDHIST ALTAR ON BUDDHAS’ BIRTHDAYS

Question: A Buddhist friend does not have a typical Buddhist altar at home, but he does own a mini altar that he uses to perform recitation. With this mini altar, if he offers the First Incense at 12 midnight on Bodhisattva’s birthday, can he then perform recitation throughout the night?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Can he do the same as those who own a typical Buddhist altar, that is, to recite the Heart Sutra and Amitabha Pure Land Rebirth Mantra at midnight after offering the First Incense?

Answer: Yes.

Question: If he continues to offer incense, how late can he offer the last incense?

Answer: 2am.
