Caller: Master, the Ullambana Festival, which falls on the 15th Day of the 7th lunar month, is around the corner. If we pray to Bodhisattva to keep us safe and well during this period, what’s the minimum number of Little Houses that we should offer?
Master Jun Hong Lu: If you are praying for safety, you must offer at least 49 Little Houses.
Caller: Do we offer these Little Houses before the Ullambana Festival?
Master Jun Hong Lu: That’s right. Having said that, this will not be sufficient if the year coincides with your 3, 6, 9 predetermined calamities.
Caller: Does it mean we need to recite more?
Master Jun Hong Lu: That’s right.
