CRITERIA TO PERFORM ALL-NIGHT RECITATION AFTER OFFERING FIRST INCENSE ON WINTER SOLSTICE
Question: Amitabha Buddha’s birthday falls on 23 December 2018, and it so happens that Winter Solstice is the day before. Is it alright to perform all-night recitation of Buddhist scriptures, including the Heart Sutra and the Amitabha Pure Land Rebirth Mantra (Wang Sheng Zhou) after offering the First Incense on the day of Winter Solstice.
Answer: You may do so provided you have a Buddhist altar at home and Bodhisattvas are present.
