ANIMALS ARE NOT BORN TO BE EATEN
Master Jun Hong Lu:
Everyone should be aware that, more than tens of thousands of tons of chicken, fish, shrimp, crab, lobster and abalone are killed every day. These are the animals that we should love and protect and they are here to co-exist on the planet Earth with us.
We humans are of no difference – we are also animals. The karma of killing is capable of shifting the collective karmic consequences of heaven and earth.
Someone once said that these animals are born to be eaten. Think about it, what a foolish statement it is! How could a human being make such a statement? The reason given was, because these animals are born incapable of speech, hence it is only right to be eaten by us.
Just imagine, if you had a younger brother or sister who was born mute, would you think it’s right to kill him or her? That’s an extremely foolish argument. I hope that everyone will nurture a heart of compassion.
