RECITE MORE EIGHTY-EIGHT BUDDHAS GREAT REPENTANCE (LIFO) WHEN STRICKEN WITH CRITICAL ILLNESS OR UNDERGOING A PREDESTINED CALAMITY
Caller: Master, as regards someone who is stricken by a critical illness and one who is undergoing a predestined calamity (e.g. clashes with Tai Sui Bodhisattva or an imminent calamity), in which situation should we recite more LIFO and which situation would require more Little Houses?
Master Jun Hong Lu: It’s necessary to recite more Little Houses and LIFO under both scenarios. There is no hard and fast rule that we can fall back on as it really depends on each individual’s conditions. On this basis, recitation of LIFO is essential in the elimination of karmic obstacles, as well as resolving clashes with Tai Sui Bodhisattva.
