DO WE NEED TO DOT ALL OVER AGAIN, WHEN THE RED DOT ON THE LITTLE HOUSE GOES BEYOND THE CIRCLE?
Caller: The red dots on the Little Houses contributed to the Guan Yin Tang Practice Centre a Buddhist friend was found to have gone beyond the circle outline. Hence the Buddhist friend was asked to take them back to be dotted all over again. As he was preparing to re-dot the Little Houses, he felt sudden chest pain. The pain was rather intense and it extended all the way to his neck and ears. As it was so unbearable, he quickly mentioned to Bodhisattva, “I will stop dotting and I will put the Little Houses away.” Only then did the pain gradually subside. Is the reason for this that we are not supposed to dot the Little Houses all over again?
Master Jun Hong Lu: No doubt. It is alright if the red dot goes outside the line by a little. Re-dotting is only necessary when you have, for example misplaced the Little House, it is not necessary in this case.
Caller: So, we do not have to re-dot as long as it is not seriously outside the boundaries?
Master Jun Hong Lu: That’s right. If it is not serious, don’t do anything. Do you understand? Otherwise, you may suffer from pain, possibly from the Dharma Protectors or foreign spirit, not Bodhisattva as Bodhisattva will never punish. The foreign spirit can cause you a lot of troubles. They may be very eager to receive the Little House, and there you are, placing the dots all over again. Can you understand how anxious they are? Consequently, they may cause you troubles.
Caller: So the same applies to the Little House that we recite for ourselves? We do not need to re-dot if the dot goes outside the circle by just a little.
Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, correct. It is alright.
Caller: Thank you Master Lu for answering my question.
