THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE EIGHTY-EIGHT BUDDHAS GREAT REPENTANCE (LIFO) AND LITTLE HOUSE IN ELIMINATING NEGATIVE KARMA
Caller: Both LIFO and Little House are able to eliminate negative karma. Is there any difference between these two methods?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Little House is more powerful. Those whose karmic obstacles are substantial and have taken the form of clusters, because of all the evil deeds they committed over many lifetimes, it is a must for them to recite the Little Houses.
You may ask, what about LIFO? Assuming you have said something that you shouldn’t say, you may then recite one time of LIFO.
If you have just had a passing evil thought that you eventually do not act upon, in that case, you will also need to recite several times of LIFO.
Another example would be if you have just made a blunder that you think will not have any major consequences. At the same time, if the misdeed has yet to develop into a karmic obstacle, reciting LIFO can help you quickly eradicate it. In essence, LIFO is a way for you to repent and neutralise some of the unwholesomeness within you.
What about Little Houses? They can gradually help you to eliminate heftier karmic debts accumulated from wrongdoings committed either in your past lives or your younger days. This is how it works.
Caller: Does it mean LIFO can only eliminate less serious karmic obstacles, whereas Little House is capable of resolving more deep-seated ones?
Master Jun Hong Lu: That’s right. However, should you wish to eliminate deep-seated karmic obstacles, it is essential to first recite LIFO, as LIFO is to profess your repentance, followed by the recitation of the Little Houses.
