KINDNESS DOES NOT EQUATE TO A HIGH STATE OF MIND
Caller: Does it mean that a person has a high state of mind given that he is a good person, considerate, kind, and helpful to others?
Master Jun Hong Lu: It means that he is kind, but that does not necessarily mean that he has a high state of mind.
Caller: So it also doesn’t mean that he is able to get over things easily, right?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Of course. Do you really think that a person who is kind to others is able to get over things easily?
Caller: I understand now. This means that his kindness will not be able to withstand the test of setbacks or negative societal influences, is that right?
Master Jun Hong Lu: That’s for sure. He will start to wonder why there are so many bad people around despite his kindness to others and this will eventually lead to the crumbling of his innate kindness.
