HOW POSITIVE ENERGY DERIVED FROM ONE’S EFFORT IN SPIRITUAL CULTIVATION AND RECITATION COMES ABOUT?
Caller: The increase in positive energy that Buddhist practitioners experience through spiritual cultivation and chanting are brought about by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas or from within themselves?

Caller: In my view, part of it comes from our recitation and the other part emanates from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
Master Jun Hong Lu: If a person is able to receive the energy of Bodhisattvas, it goes to show that he has the energy in him and vice versa. Just like how you need a pocket to hold your things, without which you won’t be able to do so, right? Therefore, the energy gained from spiritual cultivation is partially from the blessings of Bodhisattvas, and in part from within us. This is how the merging of the two forces is made possible.
Caller: If one deviates from the right Buddhist practice, does it mean that the external negative energy will cancel out the positive energy in him?
