Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, this is true.
Caller: Why shouldn’t we recite I more than 108 times?
Master Jun Hong Lu: This is because an excessive number of recitations can result in what we referred to as, ’pushing too hard’. To quote you a simple example about constantly making haste, when you abruptly open a bottle of soft drink, it goes ‘POM!’ and results in an eruption of bubbly mess. We need to open the bottle slowly instead to avoid soda from spilling out. Therefore, exertion of one’s strength should be controlled. The same applies to taking medication. Overconsumption can result in an adverse effect. The same logic applies here. One can only make steady progress.
