(Master Jun Hong Lu’s call-in radio program)
RECITE THE BUDDHA NAMES IN THE EIGHTY-EIGHT BUDDHAS GREAT REPENTANCE (LIFO) WHOLEHEARTEDLY
Caller: It’s said that one should recite the first fifty-three Buddha names in LIFO with the utmost respect. Does utmost respect here mean to show reverent devotion? It’s also been said that one should recite the subsequent thirty-five Buddha names wholeheartedly. Being wholehearted means seeking forgiveness from Bodhisattva is my understanding correct, Master?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, it is correct. That’s how it should be.
Caller: Got it! It is not about articulating the names of the eighty-eight Buddhas but rather, an act of glorifying the merits and virtues of the Buddhas?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, that’s correct.
