RECITATION OF ADDITIONAL AMITABHA PURE LAND REBIRTH MANTRA DURING THIS PERIOD: FROM WINTER SOLSTICE TO THE THIRD DAY OF LUNAR NEW YEAR
Question: The following discourse has been applicable for past two years, can we still do the same this year?
From Winter Solstice till the third day of Lunar New Year, we may recite (up to) three batches of 49-108 times of Amitabha Pure Land Rebirth Mantra daily, among which one batch is to be counted as daily recitation, and the other two batches in the form of Self-Cultivation that is to be dotted onto the Self-Cultivation Record Form (272 circles each). Usually, recitation of one form can be completed in 2 days and you may offer the Self-Cultivation Record Form one at a time as you complete its recitation. Such forms can only be offered where there is a Buddhist altar. Do not do so when you offer only Heart Incense. When offering, you may state the following prayer, “May Guan Yin Bodhisattva protect and bless <full name> to eliminate karmic obstacles”.
Answer: You may practise the same this year.
