PRAY TO BODHISATTVA IN ALL OUR UNDERTAKINGS
Question: A Buddhist practitioner would specifically recite the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance once every day and make the following prayer, “May Bodhisattva forgive and help me to eliminate karmic obstacles from any imperfection and inappropriateness in my sharing of the Buddha’s teachings.” Is this proper?
Answer: Yes, it is alright. As flaws are inevitable in our sharing of the Buddha’s teachings, it is good if we pray to Bodhisattvas for blessings. After all, to give prior notice about something as opposed to no notice at all, makes a big difference. This is certainly the case when we pray to Guan Yin Bodhisattva.
