DO NOT WEAR SLIPPERS WHEN PROSTRATING TO BUDDHA
Question: Master Lu has mentioned before we should not wear slippers when paying respect to Buddha. Is it proper if we wear slippers while offering incense, and remove them later when we prostrate before the Buddha on a praying mat? Or we should refrain from wearing slippers when we are offering incense and praying to Buddha?
Answer: I would rather go barefoot than wear slippers when paying respect to Buddha. Leave the slippers outside and do not wear them anywhere within the area.
