QUERY RELATING TO CHANGE OF FORTUNE
Caller: Master Lu, during your discourse on the 2nd of April, you mentioned that one’s fortune will change every three to five years; that is to say one’s fortune will only be changed every three years. May I ask Master Lu, do Buddhist practitioners also have to wait for three to five years before our fortunes can be changed? Or, are we able to reduce the waiting time by repaying our karmic debts, eliminating our negative karma and accruing merits more rapidly?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Absolutely right. In general, the luck of non-practitioners will only change every three to five years. However, for Buddhist practitioners, they may only need a year, half a year, or even three months to affect a change of luck. Let me give you an example: if Master wished for something, change could come within a few days or even a few hours; this is due to the difference in foundation and merits.
