Caller: Master Lu, with regards to the anniversary of the death of someone, can we perform the memorial ritual in advance?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Don’t make it common practice. Try to perform it on the actual day. If you do it in advance, they may not “come out”. Especially as some deceased are under strict supervision in the underworld. They may not be able to make their way out should you decide to do it in advance.
