HOW TO MAINTAIN A BALANCE BETWEEN TIME SPENT ON RECITATION AND WORK

Caller: Greetings to you Master Lu! I am new to Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. As a new Buddhist practitioner, I would like to seek your advice on how to achieve and maintain a balance between recitation and work?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Maintaining a balance between work and recitation is like balancing your everyday life, meals, and work. How do you achieve it? First, your mind must be balanced. When you feel like performing recitation, simply make the most of any spare time. There’s no need to set a fixed time. Whenever you have a moment, just recite, and keep your mind free from distracting thoughts. Just on your recitation.

Caller: Noted. Thank you.

Master Jun Hong Lu: Bear in mind that reciting scriptures can help eliminate disasters and resolving your troubles. So, whenever you have a moment, make sure to recite.

Caller: Yes. I was on leave recently and have been reciting diligently. During this time, I felt a sense of serenity. However, with work resuming in February, I am quite anxious, as I do not know how to maintain the balance.

Master Jun Hong Lu: Do not be afraid. Persist in your recitation, no matter the hardships. Place the Bodhisattva in your heart, and you will never lose the Buddha-dharma.

Caller: Okay. My gratitude to you, Master Lu.
