WHAT SHOULD WE DO WHEN INCENSE BREAKS OR IS EXTINGUISHED IN THE PROCESS OF PLACEMENT INTO THE INCENSE BURNER

Caller:  Master Lu, when we offer incense to Bodhisattva, if one of the incense sticks breaks or it is extinguished after we place it into the incense burner, do we have to offer three new incenses, or only one?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  Just making up the one incense will do.  

Caller:  If this happened in the Guan Yin Hall, do we need to recite The Great Repentance Mantra?  

Master Jun Hong Lu:  You should immediately inform Bodhisattva on the spot, “Guan Yin Bodhisattva, my mind could have been defiled today, hence I commit this mistake.  May Guan Yin Bodhisattva and all Bodhisattvas forgive me”.
