DO NOT TURN ON THE LOTUS LAMP ON THE BUDDHIST ALTAR WHEN NO INCENSE IS OFFERED
Caller: Hi Master, should we leave the lotus lamp on the Buddhist altar lighted at night?
Master Jun Hong Lu: You should not.
Caller: Despite having a lamp that is left lighted permanently at the entrance of my hall, my altar remains very dark.
Master Jun Hong Lu: Do not switch on the lotus lamp if you are not inviting the Bodhisattvas. It will attract foreign spirits when the lotus lamp is switched on with no incense offered.
Caller: No wonder Master has previously mentioned that there were foreign spirits on my altar.
