COLLECTIVE RECITATION OF BUDDHIST SCRIPTURES DURING THE SETTING UP OF A BUDDHIST ALTAR ADDS SOLEMNITY TO THE OCCASION

Caller: Master Lu, when performing the ritual of setting up a Buddhist altar, some Buddhist friends prefer to collectively recite the Buddhist scriptures out loud. Is this alright?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, as it is a dignified practice to recite collectively. Why do you think the recording of the Great Compassion Mantra that I encourage everyone to play is the one that is collectively recited by a hundred people? Doesn’t it sound dignified?

Caller: Yes, indeed.
