The spiritual path to enlightenment is riddled with afflictions and obstacles. It is important that the enlightened guard their inherent Buddha nature. It takes the mind to overcome whatever hardship or calamity that comes our way. Only when one’s mind is devoid of thought can one be blessed with good fortune and longevity.
