WHY IS IT THAT STUDYING BUDDHISM IN PLAIN TERMS CAN HELP REDUCE THE NUMBER OF LITTLE HOUSES THAT ONE NEEDS TO RECITE?
Caller: According to Master’s latest guidance, it is said that by studying Buddhism in Plain Terms, the required number of Little Houses for our karmic creditors can be reduced to a certain extent. Additionally, we will receive blessings and be kept in good health.
A Buddhist practitioner may be curious to know: since the Little Houses are meant to repay karmic debt to our karmic creditors, when we say that, but studying Buddhism in Plain Terms can help reduce the number of the Little Houses that we need to recite, is it because our karmic creditors will, in a way receive the spiritual energy from the teachings within?
Master Jun Hong Lu: That’s not how it works. It’s the spiritual energy of reciter that makes the difference. For example, if you are supposed to recite 100 Little Houses because you lack spiritual energy, but when you study Buddhism in Plain Terms, your spiritual energy is enhanced. This makes the spiritual energy of the 10 Little Houses you recite as effective as the originally required 100 Little Houses. The karmic creditor receives Little Houses that are more powerful and effective. Do you understand?
Caller: Yes.
Master Jun Hong Lu: Let me give you a simple example: Isn’t a piece of compressed biscuit as good as 10 pieces of normal biscuits? Won’t the energy derived from both be the same?
Caller: I understand now.
