HOW CAN WE PREVENT THE OUTFLOW OF WISDOM AND BLESSINGS?

Master Jun Hong Lu: How can we prevent the outflow of our wisdom and blessings?

First of all, we must observe moral discipline. What is moral discipline? Do what you should, refrain from doing what you shouldn’t. Think only what you should, stop thinking about what you shouldn’t. Say only what you should, otherwise just keep silent.

When you can’t keep the precepts, you will descend to the three lower realms. When a person loses his temper and is upset, he is starting to exhaust his wisdom, and his line of thoughts will fall into the three lower realms.

Think about it, those who fight, lose their sanity and temper, are no different from an animal. They bite, fight and they are ferocious, just like how a tiger feeds on its prey, right?

Many people do not commit unwholesome deeds through their bodily actions but they speak a lot of nonsense and commit negative karma of speech. There are also those, who hardly create any negative karma of speech, but they do so through their bodily actions day in, day out.

There is another type of person who does not sin through bodily actions and mouth. On the surface, they appear quiet, but their minds are constantly churning out all the negative things. In fact, they transgress in their minds, such as wishing for the death of others or hoping for a host of mishaps to befall them. Such mental transgression is no different from those committed through bodily actions and speech, only that the negative karma created is much dire and heftier.

Why is this so? It is because the moment your mind conjures up all the evil deeds, you will never escape the all-pervading eyes of Bodhisattvas and the beings in the underworld.
