ONLY BUDDHIST FRATERNITY IS ENDURING; BE OF GREATER HELP TO OTHERS
Master Jun Hong Lu: Let me reiterate what I’ve said before: In life, family love cannot be compared with Buddhist fraternity. What do you think Buddhist fraternity is? It’s the love that Bodhisattva bestows upon us, don’t you think?
What about family love? It is the love you have for your offspring, just because you are their parents. Take a look around us, siblings become estranged, and family drifts apart. Because of personal gains, relatives become openly hostile to one another. This is what you call family love.
What about Buddhist fraternity? This comes about when everyone applies the great universal love, compassion and propagate the dharma to all predestined sentient beings and live our life based on this spirit in the human realm. Not only is it enduring, it is an affection that never diminishes; a type of indestructible endearment that binds people together forever.
Every one of us possesses an inherent Buddha nature. Hence, when our relationship is based on Buddhist fraternity, this affection surpasses all worldly affection.
I hope all of you will follow my footsteps to help others. Take a look at the immeasurable love that I get in return for the help that I extend. Many of you complain, “I’m so lonely and feel so left out; I can’t feel any love.” This is because you are unwilling to help others.
