SETTING UP BUDDHIST ALTARS FOR OTHERS WILL ACCUMULATE ENORMOUS MERITS

Question: Setting up Buddhist altars for others can accumulate significant meritorious blessings; does it encompass the Giving of Wealth, Dharma and Fearlessness?

Answer: If you make monetary contribution towards the costs of the Buddhist altar, it is considered a Giving of Wealth. As Buddhist altars are considered Dharma items, helping others to set them up at their homes is considered the Giving of Dharma. In addition, if you are personally present at the homes to help with the set up, it is considered a Giving of Fearlessness. In the case where the cost of set-up is borne by others, then this does not count as your Giving of Wealth.
