STUDYING BUDDHISM IN PLAIN TERMS – THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SELF-STUDY VERSUS GROUP STUDY

Caller: Master, there was an important discussion on Buddhism in Plain Terms in last week’s call-in radio program that has greatly benefited our Buddhist practitioners. We were filled with dharma bliss conducting Buddhism in Plain Terms Group Study everyday. What is the difference between group study and self-study?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Can you tell me the difference between performing good deeds alone and in a group?

Caller: We gain deeper experience in working as a group and everyone will be filled with dharma bliss, is that correct, Master?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, and the concept is similar here. Both are ways of cultivation. However, you will enjoy dharma bliss and benefit more from learning together than self-cultivation.

Caller: Yes, agree!
