ABIDING NOWHERE, THE AWAKENED MIND ARISES

Master Jun Hong Lu: “Abiding nowhere, the awakened mind arises”. This verse is cited in the Diamond Sutra and it refers to a state of mind that is equivalent to the Bodhi Mind.

When you are not concerned about your self-interests in all of your undertakings; when you have neither thoughts nor motives, that’s a kind of compassion ─ the unconditional great compassion towards all sentient beings.

This ‘non-abiding’ state of spirituality coupled with compassion is known as the Bodhi Mind. This Buddhist teaching from the Diamond Sutra serves to enlighten us on cultivating the state of ‘unsurpassed and supreme enlightenment’ which is the Bodhi Mind.
