WEAKNESSES IN CHARACTER – ARE THEY CAUSED BY KARMIC OBSTACLES FROM PREVIOUS LIFE?

Weaknesses in one’s character, including committing unwholesome verbal act, being petty or getting jealous easily; are these considered as karmic obstacles from previous life?
Master Jun Hong Lu:
It is related to both previous and present life. For example, if a person is born to be petty by nature; the pettier he gets, the more things will go against his will and consequently he will become pettier – forming a vicious cycle. Therefore, it is related to both previous and present life.
Caller:
Can he rely on Heart Sutra, Eighty-eight Buddhas Great Repentance and Little Houses to resolve it?
Master Jun Hong Lu:
With more recitations, one will be able to change his destiny and character.
