A TRUE STORY OF THE INFALLIBLE WORKING OF THE LAW OF KARMA – THE COW SHE BRUTALLY KILLED IN HER PAST LIFE REINCARNATES AS HER HUSBAND, WHO RUTHLESSLY TORTURES HER IN THIS LIFE

Question: Can you verify the authenticity of this anecdote?

Here’s how the story goes:

I rang my youngest aunt today and from the conversation, I feel that she’s no longer practising Buddhism because her husband refuses to accede to her request of setting up a Buddhist altar at home. He is also against the idea of her becoming a disciple of Master Lu and constantly setting himself against her. To make matters worse, he is alcoholic and was dismissed from his job after a heated argument with his manager.

I patiently lent my ear to my aunt as she poured her heart out; we talked for slightly more than an hour. Though she seemed to feel much better, her worry was still faintly discernible.

The moment I hung up the phone, I saw Master Lu’s dharma body. He said I should transfer one-third of my merits accrued from recent dharma propagation on the internet to my aunt’s husband. I felt a sense of momentary reluctance, but eventually, I did as I was told. Soon after, the image of my aunt’s husband appeared. He pinned me down and exclaimed, “Did you know how your aunt treated me in my past life?!”

He said, “I was a cow then. Not only did she strip me off my skin and tendons, she drank my blood and ate my flesh. She stewed my body parts into soup and ‘relished’ it with others. She hurled what was left of me – the bones – to feed the dogs, besides tossing my sac of skin into the stinky ditch to be buried. This was the kind of pain I was made to go through; I died but I have yet to rest in peace. I made the vow of reincarnating as her husband in her next life to slowly torment and give her hell!”

This shocking revelation sent chills down my spine. Paralysed by emotions, for a long time, I was unable to fall back asleep. I finally came to grapple with the mystery behind what makes a talented woman like my aunt marry to her incapable husband (‘a fresh flower on a heap of cow-dung’ – Chinese idiom) and why he goes against the idea of her practising Buddhism. Obviously, he didn’t want her to have a good life, as he has yet to fully claim his karmic dues.

I decided to phone my aunt again. She vouched that her husband looks exactly like an animal – not only are his legs hairy, he has a black birthmark on one of his thighs and he is quick-tempered. Hearing this made me feel so helpless.

I decided to write and share this story with the intent of urging everyone to believe in the law of karma so that they will step up their repentance.

We need to understand that regardless of the circumstances, we must accept that it’s all our fault. As the saying goes, “If you want to know your past life, look at your present condition. If you want to know your future life, look at your present actions.”

Answer: It’s a true story. Please feel free to share it.
