Caller: Hello Master, today is April Fools’ day. I was really ignorant in the past and was fond of playing pranks on others and creating hoaxes on April Fools’ day. Are they considered as false or frivolous speech?

Master Jun Hong Lu: ‘Frivolous speech’ refers to a speech that distorts facts, while ‘false speech’ is boastful and dishonest. In the case of ‘double-tongued speech’ it is meant to sow discord by stirring up strife.
Caller: Are jokes with ill intent considered a frivolous speech?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Frivolous speech distorts facts. In addition, women who crack obscene jokes will end up in hell. Take a look around you, many men and women are fond of cracking obscene jokes and mishaps are bound to befall them.
